Volunteers are an important part of the Children's healthcare team. Each day, volunteers contribute significantly to the hospital's mission "to make life better for children."
Children's encourages individuals from all areas of the community to donate their talents and time. Whatever your ability, challenge your volunteer spirit and help make a difference at Children's through a host of volunteer opportunities.

The Adult Volunteer Program encompasses a diverse set of individuals including working professionals, part-time workers, retired persons and seniors who perform in a variety of roles to benefit the hospital and its patients and families. Volunteering provides the opportunity for adults to gain valuable experience, learn new skills, make friends and serve people who need their help.
The Student Volunteer Program at Children's is designed to encourage teens to provide volunteer support while learning more about health-related careers. The program is designed specifically for teens age 15 through 18. Consideration for the program is available to teens 14 years of age for the summer program and to qualifying College students.
Children's offers various community volunteer opportunities for corporations, schools and church groups interested in getting involved. From group projects to individual support, Volunteer Services is always looking for people who will make a difference in lives of the patients we serve.
To meet the need of the many educators interested in volunteering their time during the summer break, Volunteer Services has created the Children's Summer Teacher Program to help meet the needs of the hospital while providing a meaningful opportunity for our volunteer teachers to interact with our patients and staff. We are no longer accepting applications for Summer 2009. Please check the Web site in January 2010 for our Summer 2010 application.

Volunteer Services is seeking talented musicians to welcome our families and visitors with the gift of music. Help soothe and uplift the soul by playing popular and classic piano ballads in the heart of the hospital's main entrance. Interested musicians must be able to perform at or above the intermediate level in order to participate in the all-new Music Program at Children's.
The Short Term Volunteer Program at Children's is designed specifically for adults who would like to volunteer large amounts of their time for a few (three to six) months. This may be due to unemployment, a summer break, or a temporary life-change. The opportunities available with this program will be alongside our staff in a clerical role, rather than working directly with our patients.
