Children's Medical Center Dallas and Gilbane Building Company were recently awarded an Eagle Award for the Excellence in Construction by the national chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). Gilbane is a leading national construction management firm, with a district office in Grapevine. The firm acted as construction manager for the award-winning Ambulatory Care Pavilion renovations project.
The project took home the top honor in the Healthcare $10-$25 million category in the award ceremony held in Washington, DC on June 18. In order to qualify for the national award, the project must first win the top prize in the local chapter, in this case the ABC North Texas chapter. The Eagle Award is coveted in the construction industry and the projects compete with all of the top local winners from across the country.
In addition to the Eagle Award, the Children's Medical Center Dallas Ambulatory Care Pavilion also has won three other industry awards: the ABC North Texas Excellence in Construction award in the Healthcare category, Texas Construction magazine Best of 2007 award for the Healthcare Renovation category, and a 2007 Topping Out award as a top ten Dallas/Fort Worth area project.
