Parking

Parent and visitor parking is available in two locations at Children's.

  • For inpatient or outpatient visits, parking is available in the Green Park garage located across Motor Street from the hospital's main campus. This garage is connected to hospital by skybridge. When parking at Green Park, take your ticket with you, go to the sixth floor and walk to the hospital over the skybridge. Pay for parking at the Green Park cashier between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. weekdays. If leaving between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Monday through Friday or on weekends, you can pay $3 cash or use a Tokenote at the auto-cashier machine at the exit.
  • If your child has an appointment in an outpatient clinic, parking is available in the Blue Park garage adjacent to The Bright Building, across Medical Center Drive from the hospital's main entrance.

Discount parking options

  • You can buy 10 Tokenotes, which can be used to pay for parking at the Green Park or Blue Park garages, for $10 at the cashier window on the first floor in the main hospital near the Wagon elevators from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or at the Green Park cashier located on the skybridge from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • If you still have green parking stickers, exchange them for Tokenotes at the cashier window or the Green Park cashier located on the skybridge.

Main campus visitor parking rates:

  • 0-24 hours: $3
  • Lost ticket: $3

Valet parking

Valet parking is available at the main entrance, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday-Friday, for $6.

Free parking is available at the Bank One Building Specialty Offices and the Specialty Centers in Plano, DeSoto, Irving and Mesquite.

Visiting hours

It's important for your child to see friendly, familiar faces while in the hospital. That's why visitors are welcome throughout the day, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Evenings are the best time for extended family and friends to visit since patients usually are busy during the day with medical tests, procedures and visits from their doctors. General visitors should be at least 12 years old. Siblings who are younger than 12 may visit patient rooms in most cases, but they must first check in at the nurses station for a visitor's pass.

Tours

Healthy children have lots of questions, and Children's volunteers offer small group tours for youngsters in hopes of demystifying the hospital and dispelling their fears. If you would like to schedule a tour, please call the child life department at 214-456-6280.

Gift shop

Forget your toothbrush, looking for a magazine to read or a special treat for a loved one? Stop by the Children's Corner gift shop. Open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, the gift shop features greeting cards, specialty gifts, stuffed animals, kids' games, Children's memorabilia, Mylar balloons, candy and more.

Phone-in credit card orders are delivered to patient rooms. Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted. Call directly at 214-456-2160.

The gift shop is operated by the Women's Auxiliary, and proceeds benefit the hospital.

Smoking

To preserve and protect the health of our patients, Children's is a smoke-free facility. Covered, outdoor smoking areas are available. It is important that you smoke only in the designated smoking areas to protect our patients' health.
