The Grace Lee Scholarship for Clinical Education
The Grace Lee Scholarship for Clinical Education provides financial assistance annually to support the continuing education of clinical staff members who are direct caregivers. Eligible recipients include nurses, respiratory therapists, radiology technicians and laboratory technicians who are currently seeking continuing education through an accredited program for healthcare education or have been accepted to an accredited program for healthcare education. These eligible individuals should be working to complete a BSN or obtain a certification or pursue graduate studies. This year, 10 scholarships in the amount of $3,000 will be awarded in June.
The scholarship was endowed in honor of Grace Lee, a former patient at Children's, and in recognition of the exemplary care provided by clinical staff members who contributed to her comprehensive care.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be a full-time Children's employee with two years of continuous employment.
Be recommended by an immediate supervisor and department director.
Maintain an overall grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or have a cumulative 3.0 Grade Point Average prior to being accepted into an accredited program.
Enrolled in an accredited program for healthcare education or have been accepted to an accredited program for healthcare education.
After completion of the advanced education program, scholars will commit to one year of full-time employment at Children's.
To apply, candidates should submit the following information:
Two-page abstract describing how the advanced education will contribute to the mission of Children's to make life better for children.
An official transcript or letter of acceptance into an accredited program for healthcare education.
Two reference letters.
A course plan for degree completion within a specific time frame, if applicable.
