Multidisciplinary Pediatric Aerodigestive Center (MPAC)
The Multidisciplinary Pediatric Aerodigestive Center (MPAC) at Children’s is designed exclusively for children with complex airway and swallowing disorders.
The center coordinates care between pediatric specialties that have expertise in the following conditions:
- Pediatric swallowing and feeding disorders
- Subglottic stenosis
- Tracheal stenosis
- Pediatric tracheostomy
- Bilateral vocal cord paralysis
Our approach allows families to see ENT, gastroenterology and pulmonary services in one visit at one location. Patients of this clinic often require services from various fields of medicine. Each specialist brings a unique perspective, and together, their combined expertise delivers improved patient outcomes and a less confusing experience for the families.
The care team at Children’s evaluates the individual needs of each patient collaboratively and includes a review of the patient’s medical history and current symptoms. From there, a care plan is developed for the child. The care plan coordinates the patient’s visits, tests and surgery with the family needs in mind. This saves time and ensures the medical treatment offers the best outcome.
