Neonatal ICU: What We Treat
Problems associated with prematurity including:

- Chronic Lung Disease (CLD or BPD)

- Intraventricular hemorrhage and stroke
- Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC)

Congenital (birth) anomalies and disorders including:
- Ambiguous genitalia

- Muscular disorders/hypotonia (poor tone, “floppy” babies)
- Myelomeningocele (i.e. spina bifida)
- Skeletal dysplasias/abnormalities
Other problems of the newborn including:
- Congenital infections (syphilis, rubella, CMV etc.)
- Hirschsprung's Disease
- Hydrops
- Hyperbilirubinemia
- Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE)
- Intestinal disorders, including malrotation, atresias and obstructions
- Meconium aspiration
- Persistent pulmonary hypertension
- Prenatal drug exposure
- Seizures
- Sepsis (Infections)/meningitis
- Skin disorders
- Stridor

- Double volume exchange transfusions
- Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
