Biography

Tanya Martinez-Fernandez, M.D., is a pediatric pulmonologist at Children's Health℠ and an Associate Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Martinez-Fernandez earned her medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where she also completed her internship and residency in pediatrics and was accepted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. 

Dr. Martinez-Fernandez completed two fellowships in pulmonology at the Indiana School of Mededicine - Riley Hospital for Children.

Her specialty areas include pediatric pulmonology and pediatric sleep and breathing disorders.

Dr. Martinez-Fernandez is board-certified in sleep medicine, pediatric pulmonology and pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and American Thoracic Society.

She has been on the D Magazine list for Bedst Pediatric Specialists/Doctors in Dallas. When she’s not at work, Dr. Martinez Fernandez enjoys biking, hiking, and traveling.
