Clinical and/or Research rotation with Psychiatry/Psychological Services

Thank you for your interest in a Clinical and/or Research rotation with Psychiatry/Psychological Services. Psychiatry & Psychological Services staff are members of the Department of Psychiatry at Children’s Medical Center and provide consultation, assessment, and intervention for children and adolescents, and their families. In addition, psychologists and clinical therapists are an integral part of different services within Psychiatry such as the Consultation-Liaison Service, Inpatient Psychiatry, Outpatient Psychiatry and Neuropsychology.

-all non-employees on-boarding officially as “trainees” must be from one of the below listed programs. Others will have more limited exposure and may be credentialed as “volunteers”. The following is a list of institutions and programs with which we have an affiliation (contract) agreement:

Description of Services

The Psychological Services staff supports medical and psychiatric programs at Children's Medical Center by providing services to patients with:

  • Primary psychiatric disorders ; Medical disorders ; Combined medical and psychiatric disorders

Services include, but not limited to:

  • Diagnostic evaluations; Psychological and neuropsychological assessment; Behavior management, Individual, family and group therapy; Interventions related to adjustment to chronic or terminal illness and non-adherence to a medical regimen; Pre-transplant evaluation and post-transplant follow-up; Support for transition to adult care.
