Plano Campus

Since 2008, the Children’s Health Plano campus has been committed to providing high-quality health care to children who reside north of Dallas. Anchored by Children’s Medical Center Plano, the first full-service pediatric hospital north of Dallas, we are equipped with the latest technologies and offer more than 30 specialties and subspecialties.

Today, we proudly serve patients and families where they need it most, close to home, and we are honored to care for many more children and families in the coming years as we invest in our campus and the surrounding communities.

Campus and facilities

• Certified Level IV trauma center with plans to certify as Level III in 2024
• Full-service laboratory, pharmacy, inpatient rehabilitation therapy, respiratory care and imaging services
• Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) with specially trained providers to care for critically ill patients
• Children’s Health Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, the only program of its kind in North Texas for sports-related injuries and prevention
• Dedicated 12-bed Eating Disorder Unit with inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient care for children and teens
• Two on-campus specialty centers offer a full spectrum of services in pediatric specialties and subspecialties
• Robust Child Life and Pet Therapy programs, plus an all-abilities playground, family resource library, pastoral care, guest relations and translation services
• Amenities to provide an environment of health and tranquility:

Expanding care for kids

When we first broke ground on the Children’s Medical Center Plano campus in October 2005, we did so with the promise to care for the children in our community and to grow alongside them. On October 26, 2021, we reaffirmed our promise as we broke ground on an expansion that will allow us to provide enhanced specialty care to the children of today, tomorrow and many future generations. By late 2024, Children’s Health will open a new tower at the Plano hospital, a development that will ultimately nearly triple the number of beds and significantly enhance clinical capabilities.

Our expanded space will include:

• New 395,000-square-foot inpatient tower
• 212 beds, nearly tripling the current bed count
• State-of-the-art imaging modalities
  • New 3T MRI
  • Upgraded 1.5T MRI
  • New PET/CT scanner
  • Upgraded SPECT/CT scanner
  • Upgraded CT scanner
  • Additional X-ray and ultrasound capacity
• 6 expanded specialty care programs:

  • The Heart Center
