Technology and equipment
Our new facility offers best-in-class sports performance and rehabilitation technology and equipment, including:
AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill
Athletes can walk, jog or run without an increased load to their joints or tissues on the AlterG Anti-Gravity treadmill. This technology provides a precise way to track patient progress, and keep patients engaged and motived during their rehab. The AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill gets athletes excited to continue to use it beyond short term rehab.HydroWorx pool and underwater treadmill
Hydrotherapy gives athletes another opportunity to recover and regain strength without the pounding effect of a treadmill. This pool features a moveable floor to accommodate any athlete’s height. The underwater treadmill, resistance jet technology, computer and camera systems offer visual feedback to athletes and their therapists.Functional squat machine
The functional squat machine gives athletes real-time feedback to help strengthen muscles and improve performance. This machine uses a combination of audio and visual cues to offer feedback, and even incorporates games on a computer screen that provide a fun and challenging leg workout.Pneumatic weight training system
The pneumatic weight training system is a multi-functional machine for a complete body workout. It can be used for hundreds of different exercises, ranging from rehabilitation to sports-specific applications and is one of the most basic and versatile cable machines available. Pneumatic weight training is beneficial because workload is applied more specifically to the muscles for more effective results and it also mimics the natural function of the muscles.60-yard turf field
The 60-yard turf field is built with state-of-the-art synthetic materials and is utilized for speed, agility and sport skills training. The field also attaches to the indoor turf area, which allows for indoor speed and agility training.Sprint track
The six-lane, synthetic sprint track is beneficial for development of an athletes’ linear speed development. Through our Sports Performance program, the track can be used to assist youth athletes in improving their athletic performance.Inlaid olympic lifting platform
The ground-level lifting platforms are used in our Sports Performance program for strength and power development. The platforms are flush with the ground allowing for increased productivity and functionality.Harlequin dance floor
The sprung dance floor assists in dance injury rehabilitation and prevention by providing the ideal conditions for dance training. A sprung floor absorbs shock, which can improve performance and reduce risk of injury. Our dance floor, mirror and barre recreate dancers’ typical training and performance environment to aid in rehabilitation and provide guidance on correct form and technique that can limit further injuries.Orthopaedics and sports medicine research laboratory (OSMRL)
The OSMRL conducts musculoskeletal and concussion research focusing on injury prevention, treatment/rehabilitation, and performance optimization. Our interdisciplinary team works together to develop a personalized care plan for each patient, with the goal of helping our athletes overcome injuries and reach their full potential. Athletes of all ages choose to participate in our research and take pride in helping our scientists shape the next generation of interventions. The OSMRL gives athletes access to the latest technology including 2D and 3D motion analysis, force plates, accelerometry, electromyography, and isokinetic dynamometry. These tools help identify overall injury risk and performance capabilities that can be addressed by our physicians, physical therapists, and performance coaches. -
