Continuity Clinics
At continuity clinic, residents have the impactful opportunity to provide primary care in a variety of communities. Residents are assigned to a clinic site where they care for patients and are supervised by board-certified pediatricians who provide role modeling and expertise in community-based primary care. During the course of their training, residents are able to build a patient panel allowing them to learn growth and development by observing their patients over time. Residents are often considered to be the primary care provider and perform well child exams, see sick visits, give anticipatory guidance, and connect families with community resources.
There are a wide variety of potential practice locations across the greater Dallas area. Each clinic is unique, and across the spectrum of these clinics, there is wide diversity in the ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds of the patient population.
