As the  first full-service children’s hospital in the Metroplex located in the region north of Dallas, we offer comprehensive care for almost every pediatric injury, health issue and disease. Since opening in Plano in 2008, we have been home to some of the nation’s top pediatric specialists.

Expert care in more than 30 specialties

We offer state-of-the-art care from doctors in 30+ specialties and subspecialties, making world-class care easily accessible to families in Plano, Frisco and other areas north of Dallas. Our doctors take a team approach, working together to evaluate each patient and select the treatment that’s right for your child. This enables us to care for our patients’ needs from sports injuries to epilepsy to cancer, and everything in between.

If your child has a rare condition or needs access to a clinical trial, we coordinate seamlessly with our colleagues throughout Children’s Health. This means children with unusually complex health issues can get the treatment they need from doctors who know each other and are used to working together.

Growing for the future

We are growing alongside our rapidly expanding community. In December 2024, we opened a new, eight-story patient tower that includes an expanded emergency room and 140 new inpatient beds, nearly tripling the campus bed count from 72 to 212 beds. The expansion supports enhanced service offerings and new care capabilities as the campus expands access to expert care for patient families across our Metroplex and beyond. Our Plano hospital’s highlights include: 

• An emergency room with a Level IV trauma designation with plans to certify in 2024 as a Levell III Trauma Center. As one of the nation’s busiest emergency rooms, we have the experience and expertise to help children overcome the full spectrum of acute injuries and illnesses.
• A Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) that delivers comprehensive care for critically ill children.
• A Level III Epilepsy Center, including our advanced Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU).
• The Heart Center that offers care from world-class physicians from UT Southwestern and Pediatric Heart Specialists. Our team uses advanced cardiac imaging technology to diagnose, evaluate and monitor heart conditions. We also offer the latest minimally invasive cardiac catheterization procedures.
• The Pauline Allen Gill Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders that delivers comprehensive treatment and support for children at every step of their cancer journey. This includes inpatient care in our hospital and outpatient care throughout treatment.
• A full-service gastroenterology program that offers innovative treatment for everything from inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) to liver failure.
• A new pulmonology clinic for respiratory and lung conditions, including a Pulmonary Function Testing Lab with state-of-the-art equipment to rest lung functionality in patients with conditions such as asthma.
• A Level II Children’s Surgery Center, designated by the  American College of Surgeons Children’s Surgery Verification™ Quality Improvement Program , and a world-class ambulatory surgery center at Live Oak Surgery Center.
• Care from world-renowned physicians and providers at the Children’s Health Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. The Andrews Institute team helps young athletes recover from injury and get training and guidance to perform at the top of their game.

Starting with our complimentary valet parking, we make it as easy and convenient as possible to take a child to the doctor. In fact, many children look forward to coming here because we give them – and their caregivers – our full and undivided attention. Many children love interacting with our facility dogs, who are here to help relieve stress and anxiety. Families also enjoy relaxing under the 100-year-old oak tree on our campus, and we offer a full-service pharmacy that gives you fast access to every medication your child needs.

In 2019, Children’s Health and UT Southwestern announced the creation of a joint pediatric enterprise, an affiliation agreement solidifying our promise to deliver a brighter, healthier future for children in North Texas and beyond. In 2021, the first joint strategic plan was developed for the joint pediatric enterprise, outlining our collective roadmap to making life better for children for many generations to come. This newly renovated eatery offers healthy, freshly prepared food including daily specials, customizable menu items, a smoothie station, baked goods, a salad bar, grab-and-go sandwiches and salads and more. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Enjoy contactless ordering through Nutrislice by Children’s Health. Orders are available for pickup in the café.

Free parking is available at Children's Medical Center Plano for both valet and self-parking.

Valet parking

Complimentary valet parking is available in front of the main hospital entrance.

Valet hours

• Monday - Friday: 6 a.m. - 6 p.m.
• Weekends: Valet not available

Self parking

Families and visitors: Covered parking is available for patient families on levels 1 and 2 of the Plano campus parking garage. This includes a bike rack and electric vehicle charging stations on each level. Surface parking is also available in front of Specialty Center 1 Plano.
 
Staff and providers: Parking is available in the covered parking garage on levels 3 and 4.
