Summer camps
Camp Summit
Camp designed for children, teenagers, and adults with disabilities. Separate sessions are scheduled for specific ages and level of functioning. Camp Summit offers week-long camp sessions during the summer and fall months and spring break, and weekend sessions and respite days in the fall and spring seasons. Campers are offered a wide variety of traditional camp activities in our barrier-free environment.

SEEK Camp is a non-denominational Christian camp experience sponsored by the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Children’s Camp is held at Bridgeport Camp and Conference Center. All activities are designed to accommodate the special needs of our campers. Each camper is encouraged and assisted by their counselor to participate in the camp community. SEEK Camp experiences are available for children ages 9 to 14, youth ages 15 to 20 and adults. SEEK Camp is a unique opportunity for campers who are physically and/or mentally challenged to learn about love, friendship, sharing, caring and living in a Christian community.

Camp Barnabas exists to provide life-changing opportunities to people with special needs in a Christian camp setting. We offer acceptance and love to more than 1,300 campers with special needs and chronic diseases - and their siblings - in locations across the United States. Through adaptive activities, people with physical, intellectual, and/or medical challenges become participants, not observers, in the world around them. They leave Camp Barnabas knowing they are uniquely created to live lives of ability.
Angel Camp
The J.E.R. Chilton YMCA at Rockwall's Angel Camp is a day camp for children with special needs - the only camp of its kind in Rockwall. The camp includes typical day camp activities, plus weekly field trips specially designed for kids with special needs.
Camp iCAN Summer Camp Program
Designed to introduce children with Aspergers Syndrome or High Functioning autism to the process of Animation. This enriching educational opportunity allows children on the high function end of the ASD spectrum to work on interpersonal and communication skills while enjoying the art of animation creativity and expression. This fun packed camp will have your child see their favorite cartoons in a whole new light. In addition to animation techniques, our highly skilled instructors teach a curriculum that is holistic and problem based driven. Your child's project will be supported by enhancing core curriculum skills such as language arts, science, and math. The great part of this type of learning is that it is not only educational but hands on and fun.

Day camps
Adventure Camp
Adventure Camp is a day camp for children and teens ages 5-21 with intellectual and related developmental disabilities. Siblings may attend as well if space allows. Adventure Camp is held Monday through Friday during spring and summer school breaks in order to provide recreational day care for campers and respite to caregivers in a fun, safe and experiential environment. Camp hours are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm with extended care available. Activities include crafts, games, entertainment, swimming, free play and field trips. Summer camps are held concurrently in two-week sessions throughout the summer (with the exception of the week of July 4th). Space is limited to 25 per session. Camper to staff ratio is generally 4:1 and is often supplemented by volunteers as needed. Camp provides a semi-structured environment with opportunities for free play and leadership. Fees are similar to daycare. Scholarships are available on a limited basis.

Summer day camp for special needs children. The camp includes regular day camp activities plus weekly field trips. Kids spend about 40% of their time outdoors.
HEROES Summer Camp
First United Methodist Church of Richardson
HEROES summer camp is designed for early childhood, elementary age and older children with a focus on recreation and leisure. Small groups will have the opportunity to work on calendar, weather and functional math and reading for all abilities. We will look into community instruction to focus on real life applications. Other activities may include swimming, using the DART system (older children) to practice skills in the community (restaurants, movies and more). Increasing appropriate communication and friendship skills will be embedded throughout the entire day. Each week is different so you can sign up for one week or all five.
Bachman Therapeutic Recreation Center
The summer program starts the Monday after Dallas Independent School District ends their school year. The program includes 8 hours (9am – 5pm) of fun activities. This year they are introducing our Meet in the Middle Program which involves integrating our campers with mainstream children ages 6 – 12; this allows their siblings (in this age range) to participate too.

Plano Parks & Recreation Therapeutic Programs provide year-round recreational programs for children, teens and adults from age one year old to over 60 years of age. The programs include outings to local businesses and restaurants, dances, in-house classes that cover academic issues, and programs that include arts and crafts, music, games and a lot of social interaction. The programs are created specifically for individuals with special needs and each program is geared to a specific age group. The programs provide fun and peer social interaction for the participants as well as respite for the families. It is a safe environment for families to leave their children.

The Epilepsy Foundation TX award winning camping programs provides youth with epilepsy a safe, structured and encouraging home away from home for 7 days and 6 nights. Staff includes Foundation personnel, pediatric neurologists, experienced camp counselors and registered nurses. The following are a list of camps funded by the Epilepsy Foundation.

Summer camp for children with epilepsy ages 8-14 and is held at Camp for All in Burton, Texas
2. Kamp Kaleidoscope®
Summer camp for teens with epilepsy ages 15-19 and is held at Collin County Adventure Camp in Anna, Texas.
3. Camp Neuron
Summer camp for children 8-14 and is held at Ceta Canyon in Happy, Texas
4. Wacky Winter Weekend
Wacky Winter Weekend is designed for youth with epilepsy and their siblings ages 6 to 14. This weekend is designed for Spike 'n' Wave® campers to reunite with friends, to give first time campers a glimpse of summer camp, and siblings the opportunity to experience camp.
