Expert care for all types of childhood neurological disorders
Experts at our Pediatric Neurology Department are nationally recognized for their skills in helping families affected by neurological disorders. We evaluate and treat patients ranging from infants to young adults for common to complex neurological problems. Other medical centers refer families to us for consultations, the latest therapies and lifelong care.
We offer advanced diagnostic tests and treatments, such as:
Developmental testing to help us address behavioral, developmental or learning problems
Diagnostic evaluations for autism to ensure the most effective therapies for kids with autism
Epilepsy monitoring unit at our Level 3 and Level 4 Epilepsy centers to diagnose and treat seizures
Genetic testing and gene therapies for neurogenetic disorders (neurological problems caused by a changed or faulty gene)
Neurological examinations to determine how a child’s brain, spinal cord and nerves are working
Neurosurgery to help children and teens overcome neurological disorders from brain injuries to congenital defects to intractable epilepsy
Access to the latest clinical trials and research
Our doctors have dedicated their careers to finding new and better ways to treat pediatric neurological disorders. For some families, our involvement in global neurology research opens the door to the latest, most promising therapies still in development. We offer families access to a large number of clinical trials and experimental medications. We’re able to do this through our relationship with UT Southwestern, one of the nation’s leading biomedical research institutions.
Supportive services for your family
Many children with neurological disorders need lifelong care and services. We provide your family with extensive resources, supporting your child as they grow. We offer:
A child life program to help families understand disorders and treatment plans, including surgeries and hospitalizations
A developmental behavioral program to help children with ADHD, learning disorders and developmental delays succeed in the classroom and in life
Neuropsychology evaluations and psychology services to help families manage anxiety, autism, depression and other mental health issues
Transition to adult care to streamline the move from pediatric to adult care
